A cool and below seasonal normal day occurred to end the work and
school week in Kansas, with afternoon temperatures ranging from
the mid 50s to upper 60s. Higher values were across northern
Kansas due to plenty of afternoon sun. Showers and embedded
thunderstorms lingered through the day for southern and eastern
Kansas. This activity gradually pushed eastward. Northerly to
northeasterly winds had speeds of 5 to 15 mph.

The low pressure system and associated precipitation will continue
to push east through eastern Kansas, eastern Oklahoma and Missouri
this evening and tonight. There is potential for severe
thunderstorms in southeast Oklahoma through the evening hours.
Otherwise the activity will be mainly showers, with a few rumbles
of thunder. Cloud cover should diminish over southern portions of
the Central Plains, with drier air moving in. Overnight
temperatures are forecast to fall to the upper 30s in Nebraska, to
the low to mid 40s in Kansas, and mid 40s to mid 50s in Oklahoma
as well as Missouri. Winds should generally stay out of the north
at around 5 mph.

Saturday should be a stellar day for any weekend activities, with
an abundance of sunshine, and afternoon temperatures in the 70s
through the Central Plains. Northerly winds are anticipated in the
east, and southerly winds are anticipated in the west. Wind
speeds will be around 5 to 10 mph. If you have outdoor plans,
enjoy.
